AutoCAD Crack+ [Mac/Win] [2022]

In 1997, Autodesk announced AutoCAD Activation Code LT, a version of AutoCAD limited to drafting. In 2002, AutoCAD 2003 and AutoCAD 2004 were released, with the addition of parametric-based, model-based, and parametric/model-based design functions. AutoCAD R14 was released in 2008.

AutoCAD (including LT, R14) has a number of XML-based drawing file formats.

R12 files are used for earlier releases, including R12, R12i, R13, and LT. R13 files are used for R13, R14, and LT. R14 files are used for all releases after AutoCAD 2004. LT files are used for LT only.

In some cases, newer versions may use different file extensions than an earlier release.

In some cases, older releases may have been available for download only as R12, R12i, or R13 files, instead of the newer R14 or LT versions.

File extensions used in Windows XP, Vista, and later operating systems.

In the following table, we compare basic AutoCAD information, including file extensions, between various releases of AutoCAD, as well as other Autodesk desktop, mobile, and web apps.

Work product specification
AutoCAD allows its user to specify the order in which the user’s content should be displayed when the user displays the drawing window. It also allows the user to specify the ordering of objects on a drawing page. There are two methods for adding content to a drawing page: “insert objects” and “insert blocks”. A “block” is an object with a dimension of a specific size and shape, and is typically a 2-D shape (such as a 2-D rectangle). A “block” is typically added to a drawing page via the “insert blocks” command. “Blocks” are typically used to add lines, text, and 3D objects (such as walls, elevations, and so forth) to a drawing page.

Internally, AutoCAD stores a set of properties for each object. There are two types of properties: “geometry” and “attribute”. A “geometry” is the specific properties of an object, such as the color, size, and thickness of a line, or the text font and text spacing for a character. An “attribute” is used to define a set of properties for an object. The properties for an object are specified as a list of attribute properties. For example, an object can be defined as a 2-D line with a red color, and a height of 6 inches. The object can also be defined with the red color, and a height of 6 inches and the property of “not pickable”. “Not pickable” is a property that prevents users from accidentally selecting a property on the property bar. A list of attributes can be specified in any order to form a property of an object.

Other features
AutoCAD has the ability to create templates. A “template” is a file that contains the various objects on the drawing page, and how those objects are laid out. If the same objects appear in the same positions on the drawing page in many drawings, it is more efficient to create a template and have that used throughout the drawings instead of each time recreating that information.

AutoCAD allows the user to assign a name to a part of the drawing. The name of the part becomes the caption of the “object”, and the name is displayed on the property bar as the part’s name. The user can designate names, edit names, and create drawing macros to specify “keystroke shortcuts”.

Edit function
AutoCAD features a number of edit functions. These functions are used

What’s New In?

Text, Line, Polyline, Area, Circle, Ellipse:

Use the new Text, Line, Polyline, Area, Circle, and Ellipse tools to create components for your designs. Export selections as DXF, DWG, DWGX, or DGN files. (video: 4:05 min.)

Bonsai:

Contain your design in a series of Bonsai that you use to help manage your design’s complexity. Use Bonsai’s Block View to help manage the size, shape, and scale of your design. (video: 4:21 min.)

Constraint Manager:

Use built-in behavior that automatically updates your constraint state, providing validation and feedback. (video: 6:44 min.)

Constraints:

Make your design conform to a range of values or a predefined scale. Drag handles in any model space that make it easier to define and update the constraints. Constrain to parts or a whole model, or to other predefined constraints. (video: 7:29 min.)

Object Design:

Create, edit, and manage your models, including rotating and flipping. Join model parts together to create combined entities. Use constraints to ensure that one part is always aligned with another. (video: 5:10 min.)

Layouts:

Organize your drawings into functional designs. Save your layouts in standard template formats such as DWG, DWGX, or DGN, or as EPS, PDF, XPS, and DXF files. Use a tool to instantly update the drawing created from the template. (video: 7:06 min.)

Function Reference Manager:

Track all functions, attributes, and symbols in your drawing, in the function reference manager. Use the menu to add and modify function definitions and attributes, and to search the function reference for definitions or attributes. (video: 6:35 min.)

User Interaction and Tool Palettes:

Add or modify controls for existing tools. Use the tool palette to add controls for tools you use frequently. (video: 6:41 min.)

Support and Feedback:

Get automatic updates to AutoCAD. Windows Update ensures that AutoCAD 2023 is always up to date. You can also choose to download updates manually. (video: 4:59 min.)
